Chaotic diffusion in the 2/1 asteroidal resonance An application of the frequency map analysis

چکیده
We have applied the frequency map analysis of Laskar (1993) to the following dynamical models of the 2/1 asteroidal mean-motion resonance: the planar restricted threebody model and the planar restricted four-body model with Saturn. It allowed us to reproduce the chaotic region, which is formed by the overlap of secondary resonances in low eccentricities. We have examined the chaos generated by high-order secondary resonances in moderate eccentricities and concluded that, in the three-body planar model, most of the area remains regular even in the model with Jupiter’s eccentricity equal to 0.061. But, when the basic secular frequencies of Jupiter’s orbit were taken into account, themoderate-eccentricity region turned chaotic and a slow chaotic diffusion appeared. The diffusionwas found to be more significant in the full, planar four-bodymodel. Asteroids exhibited random excursions in the phase space and we studied this possible mechanism of resonance emptying in several 10-Myr integrations.

Image encryption based on chaotic tent map in time and frequency domains
The present paper is aimed at introducing a new algorithm for image encryption using chaotic tent maps and the desired key image. This algorithm consists of two parts, the first of which works in the frequency domain and the second, in the time domain. In the frequency domain, a desired key image is used, and a random number is generated, using the chaotic tent map, in order to change the phase...

extensive set of trajectories in both resonances. Moreover, we have included the 4/3 resonance in our study. The frequency map analysis was applied to the fairly realistic models of the 2/1, 3/2, and 4/3 jovian resonances and the Figure 1 shows the basic characteristics of the first-order results were compared with the asteroidal distribution at these mean–motion resonances in the averaged, pla...
متن کاملApplication of the method of multiple scales for nonlinear vibration analysis of mechanical systems with dry and lubricated clearance joints
In this study, the method of multiple scales is used to perform a nonlinear vibration analysis of a mechanical system in two cases; with dry and lubricated clearance joints. In the dry contact case, the Lankarani-Nikravesh model is used to represent the contact force between the joined bodies. The surface elasticity is modeled as a nonlinear spring-damper element. Primary resonance is discussed...
متن کاملDynamic Contrast Magnetic Resonance Imaging (DCE-MRI) and Diffusion Weighted MR Imaging (DWI) for Differentiation between Benign and Malignant Salivary Gland Tumors
Background: Salivary gland tumors form nearly 3% of head and neck tumors. Due to their large histological variety and vicinity to facial nerves, pre-operative diagnosis and differentiation of benign and malignant parotid tumors are a major challenge for radiologists. Objective: The majority of these tumors are benign; however, sometimes they tend to transform into a malignant form. Functional M...
متن کاملIdentification of Nonlinear Modal Interactions in a Beam-Mass-Spring-Damper System based on Mono-Frequency Vibration Response
In this paper, nonlinear modal interactions caused by one-to-three internal resonance in a beam-mass-spring-damper system are investigated based on nonlinear system identification. For this purpose, the equations governing the transverse vibrations of the beam and mass are analyzed via the multiple scale method and the vibration response of the system under primary resonance is extracted. Then,...
